Events In Your Area All throughout the year, and all over the country, we participate in conferences, forums and local community events. Here you'll find a listing of our upcoming events. April April 20 - 21 Clean Water Celebration. The Clean Water Celebration is a joint effort between The Sun Foundation, an arts and science education group in the Tri-County area, and the Rivers Project, a high school program coordinated by Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Hundreds of high school students from the Rivers Project were joined by thousands of middle school students from Central Illinois for two days of presentations, exhibits, art, science, theater and song. April 14 – May 23 Arts in Education. During the 2008 Arts In Education Spring Celebration over 17,000 music students from over 135 schools across six counties—Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Fulton, Marshall, and Henry hold free public concerts. The 2008 event will run from April 14 through May 23, 2008, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each weekday at the Peoria County Courthouse Plaza—a six-week celebration of the arts. May May 10 Peoria Komen Race for the Cure – Illinois American Water provides free water for race participants and spectators at two locations – the Metro Centre and along the race route – to keep runners and walkers hydrated. May 16 - 17 Belleville Art on the Square – Illinois American Water is a sponsor of Belleville's ART on the SQUARE, which has been ranked the #1 fine arts show in the nation by The Art Fair Source Book of Portland, Oregon. May 23 – 25 Streator Downtown Heritage Days. Heritage Day Celebration includes a carnival, flea market, vendors, food and a parade. Join in on the fun in Streator! June June 20-22 Taste of Champaign. Come out to the Taste of Champaign and sample Illinois American Water’s award-winning water. July July 4 - 7 Lincoln Heritage Days. Lincoln, Illinois celebrates Abe Lincoln with a four-day community old-fashioned celebration. July 4th Weekend Scott Air Force Base Air Show. Come out and enjoy the Scott Air Force Base Air Show. Illinois American Water has been a sponsor of this event for many years. The show, which is free to the public, includes dozens of static display aircraft from across the country and around the world, special activities and events as well as a variety of stunning aerial demonstrations. July 4 Orland Hills Independence Day Celebration. Illinois American Water sponsors this 4th of July celebration. July 4 Pekin Fourth of July Celebration. Illinois American Water sponsors this celebration to help provide the city of Pekin with a stunning Fireworks display in honor of Independence Day. July 13 - 14 Balloons on the Prairie. Illinois American Water sponsors this event which benefits OSF Hospice.
August August 13 Taste of Peoria. Stop by the Illinois American Water booth at the Annual Taste of Peoria and enjoy a free drink of cold water. August 22 - 24 Lincoln Art & Balloon Festival. Illinois American Water sponsors this event which brings the town of Lincoln and people from all across Illinois together. August 24 Center for Prevention of Abuse Duck Race. Adopt a Duck... End Abuse! Thousands of adorable rubber duckies will be "adopted" by friends of The Center for Prevention of Abuse and dropped in the water on the Peoria Riverfront. Race winning ducks earn their owners an array of prizes, while the event raises funds for the center. September September 5 - 7 Pekin Marigold Festival. The Marigold Festival involves the entire community and is organized by the Marigold Festival Committee. Over the years the Marigold Festival has grown from a small event around the courthouse in downtown Pekin to a community-wide festival that attracts over 100,000 people over a number of days and locations September 6th - American Heart Association, Greater Midwest Affiliate Heart Walk at Shoppes at Grand Prairie. Illinois American Water will support approximately 1500 walkers in their fight against heart disease. October National Theatre for Children performance sign-ups begin this month. These free interactive theatre performances are available to schools in our service areas. The shows teach the value of water and the importance of protecting and conserving this precious resource. School performances are scheduled for January – April of each year. Cairo River Boat Days. |
